MONEY, BANKING, AND ECONOMIC CONDITIONS. Three credit hours. Three hours of lecture per week. Analysis of the U.S. financial system, its response to and impact on economic activity and policy. Role of the financial markets on intermediation. Emphasis on interest rates, monetary policy, securities and their markets, the Federal Reserve System, business cycles, and risk management by financial institutions.
