Catalog description

Exploration into the nature of human language through the study of the most recent models proposed by linguistic theory. Analysis of linguistic universals in syntax, semantics and language acquisition and processing. Description of linguistic variation by means of typology, historical linguistics, and sociolinguistics. Application of linguistic theory to problems in natural languages, with special attention to Spanish. ESPA 4215. 20TH CENTURY SPANISH-AMERICAN THEATER. Three credit hours. Three hours of lecture per week. Study of the movements, tendencies, topics and techniques of 20th century Spanish American theater through reading and discussion of representative authors and works.
