THEORY AND METHODOLOGY OF TEACHING FINE ARTS K-12

Catalog description
Theoretical and practical approach to the processes of teaching and learning in all disciplines of fine arts, including visual arts, general, vocal, and instrumental music, theater, movement and body expression, ballet, dance, and cinematography. All aspects related to Fine Arts Education in schools from kindergarten to 12th grade will be studied: planning; innovative education and curriculum analysis; basic content in each area; preparation, adaptation, and use of resources; methodology, techniques, and teaching strategies; fundamentals of measurement and evaluation. Students will complete at least 15 hours of laboratory experiences, in the specific subject matter pursues to get teacher's certification. These experiences will enable them to develop critical, dynamic, and creative attitudes towards the prevailing educational problems in our Puerto Rican reality. EDPE 4185. THEORY AND METHODOLOGY IN THE TEACHING OF THEATRE (K-12) Three credit hours. Three hours of lecture per week.
