Catalog description

Fundamentals concepts of procedural programming. Topics include data types, control structures, functions, arrays, files, and the experience of running, testing, and debugging programs. COMP 3015. LINUX AND FREE/OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE FOR STEM. Three credit hour. Two hours of lecture and two hours of laboratory per week. 444 Undergraduate Catalogue 2026-2027 Introduction to different programming languages and their applications in the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Exploration of the different FOSS (Free and open source software) as a computational environment and as a fundamental tool for visualizing and interpreting data in these fields. Configuration and administration of the GNU/Linux operating system in order to maintain, access, and analyze STEM data.
