Three hours of lecture and two three-hour laboratories per week. Description of the marine environment and familiarization with the major tropical marine communities; data-gathering and biological sampling techniques; human impact on the marine environment from the standpoint of pollution, exploitation, protection, and regulation; jurisprudence in major litigation involving marine resources; management practices.
