Principles of solar radiation, methods of measuring solar radiation, transfer of energy into a collector, storage of thermal energy, active and passive systems of solar cells, indirect method of storing and using solar energy. ARTICULATED TRANSFER PROGRAMS – ENGINEERING WITH UPR- MAYAGUEZ The Physics -Chemistry Department offers seven engineering articulate d transfer programs coordinated with the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus: Civil, Electrical, Industrial, Computer, Mechanical and Chemical Engineering. All programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) . The University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo offers the first two years of the programs. MAJOR IN SURVEYING AND TOPOGRAPHY (0506) This program is offered by the Civil Engineering Department. The study program for this concentration includes courses in the following areas: Surveying, Cartography, Photogrammetry and Geodesics.
