Pre -requisites: QUIM 3131, QUIM 3133. This laboratory corresponds to the course of GENERAL CHEMISTRY II (QUIM 3132). It includes laboratory experiments in liquids and solids intermolecular forces, change of matter states, physical properties of solutions, kinetics, chemical equilibrium, acids and base equilibrium, solubility, oxidationreduction reactions, electrochemistry and thermodynamics. QUIM 3025: ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY, fou r (4) credits, three (3) contact hours per week. Pre -requisites: QUIM 3002 or TEQU 3003. Co -requisites: QUIM 3026. Study of theory and methods for qualitative and quantitative analysis using gravimetric and volumetric methods, including potentiometric titration. Introduction to the spectrophotometric methods of analysis with emphasis on the ultraviolet-visible. QUIM 3026: ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY LAB, zero (0), six (6) contact hours per week. Laboratory experiences in quantit ative analysis emphasizing the determination of analytes in unknown samples by gravimetric, volumetric, potentiometric and spectrophotometric techniques.
