A study of the Renaissance as the threshold to modern civilization in its social, political, economic and cultural aspects; the religious crisis that arises in the 16th century until the Westphalia Peace Treaty, and from there on the manifestation of the two great trends of modern civiliza tion; the absolutist monarchy exemplified in France and the English model; the parliamentary system; and the intellectual European revolution until the 18th century.
