Catalog description

Studies of financial markets and performance of financial institutions. The course discusses the function of financial intermediat ion and regulatory structure of financial markets in Puerto Rico, the United States and abroad. It explains the models and theories about the operation and behavior of financial markets and the effect of risk on these. We also study different strategies and mechanisms to manage financial and nonfinancial risks and their relationship with the financial instruments’ value. We analyze current situations and their impact on the financial system, considering the ethical aspects.
