CONTEMPORARY ASPECTS OF NURSING

Catalog description

Pre -requisite: ENFE 4107 -4108. This cou rse analyzes nursing as a profession. It includes a discussion of the most relevant professional tendencies of the profession in Puerto Rico and the United States. Topics such as professional image, legal and ethical issues, the influence of politics on nursing are discussed. The course also includes a discussion of professional organizations in Puerto Rico and the US, their policies and their regulations. It also includes an overview of the Code of Ethics and professional standards that regulate the nu rsing profession in Puerto Rico. The course analyzes the responsibility of the nursing professional within the independent role described by the laws that regulate the profession in Puerto Rico.
