Catalog description

Co-requisite ENFE 4209. This course is designed to help students explore and apply principles for the promotion, restoration of health, and the prevention of disease in individuals, families or communities. Emphasis is given to t he educational support system, and the role as patient counselor and advocate. Students examine ethical and moral principles and factors that influence health or health deviation in a community, using the nursing process. Epidemiological and bio-statistical concepts are used to identify health deviation in community groups. Students use critical thinking skills in developing research projects that contribute to manage various community groups. Students learn to identify family dynamics and promote self -care. Students are introduced to knowledge about legislative programs and political processes that affect health services.
