four (4) hours of lecture per week. Pre -requisite: ENFE 1021, ENFE 1022, ENFE 1031, ENFE 1032, ENFE 1045, ENFE 2041 -ENFE 2042, BIOL 3741 -3743, BIOL 3742 -3744. This course is based on Dorothea Orem self-care theory, considering man-environment interaction and the nursing process. The course will provide students the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills and fundamental attitudes to care clients who present deviations in the self-care requirements. This course responds to the existing needs of health in Puerto Rico, according to the causes of morbidity and mortality in the Vital Statistics of Puerto Rico, such as: pulmonary disease, cardiovascular diseases, cerebral vascular accident, cancer, traumas and conditions of the genital-urinary system. This course is placed in the third level of the ADN program.
