four (4) hours of lecture per week. Pre -requisite: ENFE 1021, ENFE 1022, ENFE 1031, ENFE 1032, ENFE 1045, BIOL 3741-3743, BIOL 3742-3744. This course is based on Dorothea Orem’s theory, considering the person -environment interaction and the nursing process. The content is based on the principals involved in the care of individuals who show deviation from self- care requirements. Emphasis is human’s need for liquids and electrolytes, elimination, nutrition, integrity of the skin and the senses. Nursing intervention during learning is directed towards the initiation of the practice of health promotion, treatment and rehabilitation of clients at the optimum level of health in the health-illness continuum.
