three (3) lecture hours per week. Co -requisite: ENFE 1032. Pre -requisite: ENFE 1021, ENFE 1022. Students are exposed to the historic background, ethical and legal aspects of psychiatry. In addition, students acquire knowledge to apply the principles of mental health promotion, restoration and maintenance. Students will recognize the most common bio - psychosocial deviations in clients in the health-illness continuum. Mental health and mental illness topics, human responses that alter functioning, and disorders that affect psycho-social integrity are discussed. This is a first-level course for the Associate Degree in Nursing.
