TEACHING ART IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

three (3) lecture hours per week. This course emphasizes the methods and materials th at can be used in the classroom to develop in children the capacity of artistic expression in the field of plastic arts in the first seven grades (K-6) of our school system. Special care will be taken in communicating the true meaning of art in general, so that the future teachers taking the course develop and enhance their own sensibility to art and be capable of doing the same with the children they will teach. To achieve its objectives the course will be divided into lecture, discussion, and workshop time.
