Introduction to principles foundational to a caring practice for nursing. Situational, developmental, and cultural influences on health are discussed. A foundation is established for care of patients across the wellness-illness continuum. Health assessment of adults, as well as nursing concepts and measures for safety, health teaching, nutrition, hygiene, comfort, rest, and activity will be applied as the student cares for the patients in the practice setting.
