A study of schools in the United States from historical, philosophical, political, and sociological perspectives. Current issues and practices in education are explored, looking at factors that influence schools, teaching, and learning. Prerequisite(s): Reading readiness Corequisite(s): TED-2001 completed or concurrent (Formerly EDU-2000. Students may not receive credit for both EDU-2000 and TED 2000.)

Note: This course includes both face-to face, and independent online activities. This course is designed to meet at the Largo campus for 15 weeks. There will be 7 meetings on campus. August 19, Sept. 2, 16 and 30, October 14 and 28, and November 11.
