SGT 2050 is the Intermediate level of the surgical procedures series of classes within the Surgical Technology Program at Prince Georges Community College. This course focuses on advanced surgical procedures such as Obstertics and Gynecological Procedures, Ophthalmic, Otorthinolarngology, Plastic and Reconstructive and Oral Maxillofacial. This course may include other specialities as deemed necessary by the instructor. In addition to new concepts in surgical intervention, more complicated types of instrumentation are introduced. Students will continue to learn to anticipate surgeon's needs through the process of association and the identification of applied surgical patterns. Prerequisities: SGT 2010 with a grade of "C" or better; SGT 2100 concurrent and BIO 2010 completed or concurrent. (2 lect/3 lab hours)
