Catalog description

This course is designed to assist students to meet the healthcare needs of clients with commonly occurring acute and chronic health disorders. Physiological and psychosocial adaptation, prevention and early detection, and self-care will be emphasized, with a focus on maintaining a safe, effective care environment and the application of previously learned skills and information. Pharmacological concepts will be integrated throughout the course content. Clinical experiences will be provided in a variety of supervised, structured health care settings. Prerequisite(s): NURS.RN.AS: NUR-1020 NURS.LPN.CT: NUR-1020 Corequisite(s): NUR-1030 15 weeks/2.5 class/6 clinical/1.5 lab hours.
