Applied Calculus I

Catalog description

In this course, students develop foundational skills in differential and integral calculus with an emphasis on applications in business, life sciences, and social sciences. They evaluate limits, determine continuity, and assess differentiability of functions. Students find equations of tangent lines and apply rules of differentiation to algebraic, exponential, and logarithmic functions. They analyze function behavior, solve optimization problems, and interpret results in applied contexts. Students also apply basic integration techniques to calculate accumulated change, evaluate definite integrals, and explore partial derivatives of functions with several variables.
