Precalculus Part II

Catalog description

This course, the second in a two-semester sequence, prepares students majoring in scientific or technical fields for success in calculus and beyond. In this course, students explore the behavior of equations and their graphs, with a focus on all trigonometric functions. They learn to simplify expressions, including trigonometric, polar, and vector expressions, and perform operations on functions and sequences. Students solve a variety of equations, including trigonometric equations and systems of equations, and verify their solutions. Additionally, students apply mathematical techniques to real-world problems, such as modeling motion and interpreting directional forces using vectors and polar coordinates. Students also analyze sequences to identify patterns and predict behavior in mathematical and applied contexts.
