Admin Medical Assisting II

Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce the student to the billing and reimbursement cycle in ambulatory care settings. Emphasis will be placed on the CPT and HCPS coding systems, diagnosis coding using the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-CM) as modified for use in the United States, and data collection requirements for financial reporting and statistical research. Prerequisites: Completion of HIM 1530 or MAS 110 and BIO 2050/2060; and MAS 2010 with a C or better completed or concurrent; or permission of program director.
