Catalog description

This course addresses the basic concepts to meeting, convention and even management. Studies center on size and scope, legal compliance, risk management, financial controls and event implementation. Additionally, students will explore responsibilities related to and skills require to design, plan, market, and stage events. The focus is on introducing key issues, terms, action plans and proactive approaches to event management. Discussions will offer insight to tools, techniques, and strategies to managing people, conflicts, logistics, and security in event management. Prerequisite: HSM-1510
