Intro to Population Health

Catalog description

This course is an introduction to population health and delves deeper into the issues in public health. Students define population health and learn about its evolution over time.  Students analyze the different needs of various populations based on social determinants of health. They analyze the challenges in current health outcomes for different population segments based on data and identify the changes needed in the current model of care. Students examine current policies and health care initiatives and what is needed in the future to further improve health outcomes for specific populations. Additionally, students discuss how community engagement impacts population health.
