Catalog description

This course provides an overview of the foundations of public health preparedness and response using an all-hazards approach.? Students examine the local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to public health preparedness as well as the roles, responsibilities, functions, and tasks of the public health practitioners involved in public health preparedness. Additionally, students analyze the epidemiology of disease outbreaks and nuclear, biological, chemical, and natural disasters.? Lastly, students evaluate the preparedness cycle of critical events.
