Catalog description
This course provides the second level of training of the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) curriculum in HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning). Students gain an understanding of alternating current generation and use, indoor air quality control, and commercial air distribution systems. They acquire the skills and knowledge required for the installation and maintenance of compressors, refrigerants and oils, metering devices, chimneys, sheet metal and fiberglass duct systems, commercial HVAC systems and air quality equipment. Successful completion of the course earns students the NCCER HVAC Level 2 credential. This course is cross-listed with the following Continuing Education courses: HVC 373: HVAC/R: Level 2, Part 1 AND HVC 374: HVAC/R: Level 2, Part 2 AND HVC 375: HVAC/R: Level 2, Part 3 AND HVC 376: HVAC/R: Level 2, Part 4 The NCCER HVAC curriculum is recognized by North American Technician Excellence (NATE), an independent, third-party certification body for HVACR technicians.
