Catalog description
In this studio art course, students are introduced to basic sculptural techniques and concepts. Students learn sculptural processes such as lost-wax metal casting, woodworking, welding, and mixed-media assemblage. The elements and principles of 3-dimensional art and design are emphasized as a means to developing ideas and then creating engaging sculptural forms. Students learn safe studio practices, how to use and care for studio equipment, and how to care for and present their artwork. Additionally, students articulate elements and principles of 3-dimensional art and design through verbal and written critiques.
