Catalog description

This course examines various aspects of diversity (e.g., race ethnicity, culture, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and religion) across life course development with particular emphasis on the impact of oppression and discrimination by society on people of culturally diverse backgrounds and orientation. The history, demographics, and culture of various oppressed groups are examined, including their experiences in organizations and small groups. Special attention is given to the experiences of African Americans and African-descent populations.
