This course is a survey of the philosophical writings of some of the most important African American thinkers from the nineteenth to twenty-first century. Its aim is to gain familiarity with the works of influential African American philosophers while also learning to engage critically and responsibly with philosophical texts. Prerequisites: ENGL 1123 or ENGL 1301 .
