Catalog description

Mechanical behavior of engineering materials, plane stress, plane strain, stress-strain relationship, shear and moment, torsion, flexural, column and combined loadings. Introduction to deflections; concepts of stresses at a point; stresses in pressured containers; and theories of failures and thermal stresses. Prerequisites: (( CVEG 2301 or CVEG 2043) or (CVEG 2454 or CVEG 2400 )) and ( MATH 2414 or MATH 2024).
