Introduction to Civil Engineering as a profession, identification and discussion of the sub-fields of Civil Engineering, ethical responsibilities in engineering practice, concepts of design, laboratory demonstrations and problem-solving exercises that emphasize critical thinking skills. Leadership principles, the importance of professional licensure, life-long learning and membership in ASCE are discussed. Co-requisite: CVEG 1101 .
