Expanded Functions

Catalog description

Introduces concepts for Expanded Functions Dental Assisting (EFDA) certification as allowed by the Oregon Dental Practice Act, and Expanded Functions Orthodontic Dental Assistant (EFODA). Focuses on the rationale and procedures for coronal polishing, amalgam and composite finishing/polishing, fluoride application, retraction cord placement, pit and fissure sealant placement, and orthodontic specialty procedures. Corequisites: DA 182 . Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Dental Assisting program.
