Catalog description

These are two courses, one semester-long each, presented to medical students in their first year. The course consists of recorded lectures, In-Class sessions using audience response systems, Self-Directed Learning, Small Group Discussions, Labs, plus examinations (including NBME subject exam in Physiology). The content is designed for medical students but is also a required course for students in the Master’s Program in Medical Sciences and graduate students in the Biomedical Sciences. Areas to be covered will include Physiology I: cell and muscle, cardiovascular, respiratory, and Physiology II: renal, acid-base balance, gastrointestinal, endocrinology, and reproduction. Clinical examples that illustrate the physiological principles are given.
