Catalog description

This lecture course studies the development and microscopic organization of normal human tissue and the development of the orofacial region to understand how this relates to function and the histological changes arising from pathological alterations. Course content considers the processes involved in craniofacial development, the development of the teeth and palate, and the histology of hard and soft tissues of the oral region. This course will prepare the student to understand the histological basis of tissue turnover, repair, and bonding properties for dental restorations.
