Advanced Nursing Practice in Acute Critical Care

Catalog description
This course builds upon the student’s ability to perform comprehensive health evaluations in acute care disease management of adult and older adult populations. Using an evidence-based practice framework, the student will assess and manage acute and chronic illnesses, including demonstration of knowledge of pathophysiology and pharmacologic interventions according to current standards of care. The didactic part of this course will focus on role development, physical assessment, pharmacology, diagnostic testing, and billing and coding, which are integral to the acute care nurse practitioner’s practice.
