Catalog description

This course provides students with advanced clinical experiences and simulated practice in caring for critically ill adult patients. Building upon previous coursework, students will utilize critical thinking and clinical judgment to assess, diagnose, and manage patients with complex conditions requiring intensive care. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice, person-centered care, interprofessional collaboration, and ethical decision-making in critical care settings. Students will refine skills in advanced assessment techniques, complex care planning, and integrating pharmacological, nutritional, and psychosocial aspects of care. The course also includes an exploration of end-of-life care.
