Catalog description

This course provides students hands-on practice and simulated clinical experiences caring for pediatric patients and their families. Building upon previous coursework, students will utilize family systems theory and evidence-based practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for children and adolescents. Emphasis is placed on developmentally appropriate care, health promotion, disease prevention, quality improvement, and pediatric care’s ethical and legal considerations. Students will refine their skills in communication, assessment, and the management of common pediatric conditions. The course also integrates health informatics to support clinical decision-making and optimize patient outcomes. Sixty (60) clinical and simulation hours. Pre-requisite(s): NUR 2110 , NUR 2121 , NUR 2122 , NUR 2123 , NUR 2311 , NUR 2312 , Corequisite(s): NUR 4031
