Community Health Nursing and Disaster Preparedness: Clinical Practice and Simulation

Catalog description
This course provides students with hands-on experiences and simulated practice in applying community health nursing principles and disaster preparedness strategies. Building upon previous coursework, students will utilize population health and epidemiological principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions for individuals, families, and communities. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice, interprofessional collaboration, leadership, and ethical considerations in community health and disaster response. Students will develop skills in data collection, care planning, community education, and advocacy for community health improvement. Sixty (60) clinical practice and simulation laboratory hours. Pre-requisite(s): NUR 2110 , NUR 2121 , NUR 2122 , NUR 2123 , NUR 2311 , NUR 2312 Corequisite(s): NUR 3141
