Crisis and Trauma Intervention in Educational Setting

Catalog description

The student will be able to identify those risk factors for the trauma that can interfere with students’ socio-emotional and academic development. By identifying trauma indicators, the student will develop the skills to support families, administration, and teaching staff from a multidisciplinary approach. Similarly, students will develop knowledge in the areas of prevention and risk assessment of psychological trauma to provide interventions that respond to mental health needs. In addition, they will acquire skills to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention.
