This course provides an in-depth exploration of the specialized assessment methods used in the field of special education. Focusing on the diverse needs of students with disabilities, this course will guide students through the various assessment tools, strategies, and processes used to assess cognitive, academic, social, and emotional development. Students will gain practical knowledge of how to conduct assessments, interpret results, and make informed recommendations for individual educational plans (IEPs). Emphasis will be placed on the ethical considerations of assessment in special education, as well as the application of these assessments to ensure positive educational outcomes for students with special needs. The course also highlights the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration, focusing on how professionals from various fields work together to design and implement effective assessments and interventions for students with special needs.
