Catalog description

The Neuroscience course is offered to first-year students in graduate-level health professions programs. The general objective of the course is to give students a knowledge base of the human central nervous system that they will use when learning how to diagnose and treat neurological disorders. The course provides students with important principles of neurological function, from cellular and molecular mechanisms of neural communication to the organization and function of sensory and motor systems and higher cognitive function. Further, wet laboratories, clinical correlations, and neurological exams reinforce knowledge of brain structure and strengthen skills to understand the human nervous system.
