Catalog description

The Human Lifespan and Behavioral course is designed to educate dental students with an overview of human lifespan, development, and behavior. Topics emphasized the major milestones at each developmental stage from conception to death, and how they relate to the practice of dentistry. Without such understanding, the dentist cannot accurately assess health status, diagnose illness, or institute an effective management plan. In today’s managed healthcare environment, understanding behavior is the cornerstone of establishing rapport quickly, eliciting symptoms and signs, and identifying the management strategies that are most likely to succeed.
