This laboratory course provides hands-on experience with microbiological techniques essential for nursing and health sciences. Students will apply theoretical knowledge from microbiology to the identification, culture, and analysis of microorganisms. Emphasis is placed on aseptic technique, microbial staining, microscopy, culture methods, antimicrobial sensitivity testing, and interpretation of laboratory results. Students will also explore the application of infection control practices, biosafety, and diagnostic reasoning in clinical settings. The course fosters scientific inquiry, precision, safety, and ethical conduct, preparing students to function effectively in healthcare environments where microbiological knowledge is essential. Pre-requisite(s): BIO 1011 , BIO 1012 , BIO 1021 , BIO 1022 Corequisite(s): BIO 2031
