Catalog description

This course provides an understanding of the physics, instrumentation, and radiation safety aspects of computed tomography. Students learn the components of the CT imaging system and steps for acquiring and processing the CT image. Current radiation safety practices are also ex- plored. Topics include x-ray creation, x-ray interactions, CT imaging hardware and software, image acquisition and processing, image display and quality, and radiation safety in the CT environment.
