Clinical Practicum I

Catalog description

4 hr(s). Students will apply the skills obtained from laboratory practice in a full-service respiratory care department under the guidance of a clinical instructor. This course, which requires student travel to clinical affiliate sites, provides clinical application of technical and professional skills used in the intensive care unit, with an emphasis on the mechanically ventilated patient. Rotations may be scheduled in the sleep lab, pulmonary function lab, pulmonary rehabilitation, and/or home care.
