Computers in Health Care

This course will introduce the Health Information Technology student to computers in the healthcare arena from the basics of electronic health records (EHRs), general healthcare computer systems, data retrieval and other EHR topics. Detailed coverage of common software applications, system selection and implementation, data quality, storage and retrieval, security and privacy, and other essential topics will be covered. Prerequisite(s): HLIN 1100 or MBC 1100 Restriction(s): Health Information Technology majors
