3 hr(s). This course aims to promote an understanding of all aspects of literacy including speaking, listening, reading and writing through the early childhood years. Topics discussed include theory, methods, cultural and linguistic difference and integrating play. Language and literacy performance assessments adaptations for special needs children are explored. 15 hours field experience is required. Restriction(s): Early Childhood, Occupational Development, EC Practitioner majors
