Catalog description
This course is the first in the sequence of three leading to the Georgia In-Field Gifted Endorsement. It serves as an introduction to the field of gifted education, with a focus on gifted learners. The goal of this course is to develop students' understanding of the defining characteristics and needs of gifted learners. Students also explore the foundations of gifted education practice, including relevant definitions of the term "gifted", historical events that have shaped the development of the field, and current issues and trends impacting gifted education. Candidates must earn a grade of 'B' or higher in each required course to be recommended for the Gifted Education In-Field Endorsement. Offered: fall, spring, summer.
