Catalog description

Foundation in the teaching of reading with a focus on a balanced literacy program through the integration of reading across the curriculum. Developmental reading programs, whole-language, emergent literacy, phonemic awareness and reading readiness will be addressed. Emphasis will also be placed on engaging learners through various approaches and responses to reading. Directed field-based experience is required. Prerequisite: Pre-Service Certificate
