Catalog description

The course is designed to investigate crisis intervention models that promote physical and mental well-being. The course will focus on crisis prevention including de-escalation and behavior management strategies. There will also be a focus on the role of the school counselor during an emergency event and the impact of trauma on individuals, groups, and the counselor. Candidates will also develop skills and knowledge required to assist administrators, teachers, students, and the community during crisis situations.
